Mateus Mane posted a supportive Instagram message after reports of a dressing-room bust-up with Tolu Arokodare at Wolves.

According to the Express & Star, the incident followed the 10 April defeat to West Ham United. The report said a disagreement left Arokodare as the sole aggressor, team-mates were unhappy, and the striker was fined. It added he was in the squad against Leeds United but went unused by Rob Edwards.

Amid the claims, Mane shared an old photo of the pair on his Instagram Story, showing Arokodare presenting him with a Player of the Month award he won in December and January. He tagged Arokodare and wrote “big bro”, adding heart and fingers-crossed emojis. Arokodare reposted with heart, star and fingers-crossed emojis.

The exchanges suggest there is no lasting rift between the team-mates.

It is not yet clear what sparked Arokodare’s aggression towards Mane, and whether Edwards will use the Nigerian again this season remains to be seen. The report also raised doubts over his future, saying he is likely to leave this summer if a deal can be struck. Fenerbahce showed interest in January and, given his fee, a loan was viewed as the most likely route, while the report added he has been involved in other dressing-room disputes this season.
