Mateus Mide assist, Eduardo Ferreira goal for the under-18s

Eduardo Ferreira, set up by Mateus Mide, scored Portugal’s under-18 side’s only goal in the opening match of the first qualifying round for the Under-19 European Championship.

Portugal drew 1-1 with Kazakhstan at the Kaftanzoglio Stadium in Thessaloniki, in a match in which Yoan Pereira and Mateus Mide were named in the starting line-up by coach Bino Maçães. Eduardo Ferreira came on in the 76th minute, while defenders Marco Silva and Salvador Gomes, also FC Porto players, remained on the bench and were unused.
