Matheus Martins double lifts Botafogo into seventh

Botafogo beat Chapecoense 4-1 at Arena Condá, rising from 11th to seventh in the Brasileirão.
In the tenth minute, Edenilson swept in Alex Telles' corner to set Fogão on their way. Matheus Martins drilled a second (14.), then Edenilson glanced in a cross from Vitinho (20.) as the visitors ran hot early.
Marcinho pulled one back for Chape in the third minute of first half stoppage time, rifling from range after Yannick Bolasie's lay-off.
After the restart, substitute Joaquín Correa teed up Martins to curl in a late fourth (80.) and seal the points.
Rafael Santos made four first half saves for Chape yet could not stem the early flow. Fogão were clinical, hitting eight shots on target from 13 attempts. Chape managed three on target from nine efforts.
Chape remain 19th. Next, Fogão host Chape in the Copa do Brasil, before welcoming Internacional in the league. Chape then visit Fluminense in the league.
