As reported by Le Parisien on Thursday, Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur have reached an agreement over the transfer of Mathys Tel (19), however, the Frenchman has turned down the chance to join the Premier League side, Le Parisien understands.
Tel wants to leave Bayern Munich before the closure of the transfer window on Monday in order to secure regular game time. Multiple clubs have come forward and showed a strong interest in signing the centre-forward. In France, Olympique de Marseille initially showed an interest before pulling out of the race after Premier League sides came to the fore.
Tottenham have shown themselves to be the most proactive in pursuing a deal. They even reached an agreement with their counterparts in Germany, however, the former Stade Rennais forward has turned down the move. Le Parisien understands that Tel remains in talks with other Premier League clubs.
Aston Villa, Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have all shown a strong interest in recruiting the France youth international this month and all remain in the race, according to RMC Sport.
