Manchester United have reportedly added Matthijs de Ligt’s name to their wishlist.
According to an update from The Athletic, the Premier League giants view the 24-year-old centre-back as a viable option to boost their defence.
The current Bayern Munich man previously played under Erik Ten Hag during his time at Ajax.
It was then that De Ligt announced himself in the football world, as the Dutch club famously reached the Champions League semi-finals.
United are yet to make an official move for the defender. However, the report labels the transfer as a realistic achievement with the Dutchman “a concrete target” for the Premier League side.
De Ligt’s current deal with Bayern expires in 2027. He and the Netherlands face Romania in the EURO 2024 Round of 16.
