According to AS, Mbappé is a doubt for Real Sociedad’s visit on Saturday, with his involvement at the Bernabéu to be assessed on Friday. As on Wednesday, the forward trained in the gym on Thursday, prioritising care of his left knee after a sprain around the turn of the year.

Since returning in the Supercopa after that injury, Mbappé, apart from a cup rest against Albacete, has not stopped. He has played the last six matches in full and been prolific, scoring nine, including braces against Monaco, Villarreal and Benfica, and goals versus Levante, Rayo Vallecano and Valencia. His season tally stands at 38, accounting for 48% of Madrid’s 79 goals.

Mbappé has missed only four matches this season, City in December, the first two fixtures of 2026 against Betis in the league and Atlético in the Supercopa semi-final, and Albacete in the cup. He was a substitute in the Clásico in Yeda and started the rest.

Asencio also sat out Thursday’s session, though there is less uncertainty over his availability for Saturday. The defender has flu, which kept him out of training, yet the club remain confident he will be ready regardless of whether he works under Arbeloa on Friday.

Bellingham, Militao and Rodrygo are confirmed absentees as they continue their recoveries. Vinicius returns after serving a one-match suspension at Mestalla.
