Manchester United secured their third consecutive Premier League victory with a 4-2 win over Brighton at Old Trafford, thanks to a brace from Bryan Mbeumo.
The breakthrough came in the 24th minute when Matheus Cunha, the club’s first signing of the transfer window, finally ended his scoring drought.
The Brazilian lashed a fierce strike into the bottom-right corner, sparking jubilant celebrations in the stands.
Casemiro then doubled United’s lead with a deflected effort, before Mbeumo made it 3-0 around the hour mark, curling neatly inside the near post following clever work from Benjamin Sesko.
Brighton refused to roll over. Former United player Danny Welbeck pulled one back with a superb free-kick in the 74th minute, and deep into stoppage time Charalampos Kostoulas flicked home a header to set up a tense finish.
Yet Mbeumo had the final say, drilling home a decisive strike in the dying seconds to put the game beyond doubt.
United’s performance was driven by their summer recruits, with Cunha and Mbeumo delivering key moments, while Sesko and goalkeeper Senne Lammens also impressed. The win lifts United into fourth in the table and gives Ruben Amorim his longest winning streak as United manager so far.
