Foot Africa can confirm that MC Alger have made a decision to keep Rulani Mokwena in the hotseat amid exit rumours.
This comes after the Algerian champions endured a four-game winless run across all competitions, sparking discontent among the club's supporters.
The situation intensified when MCA were knocked out of the Algerian Cup in the quarter-finals by Sead Ramovic's CR Belouizdad during the winless form.
Now, sources have indicated that club President Mohamed Hakim Hadj Redjem recently held a meeting with Mokwena, assuring his backing for the 39-year-old tactician.
The South African mentor has a deal that's set to lapse after the 2026/27 campaign, with Libyan big spenders Al-Ittihad said to have presented a lucrative offer.
Mokwena reportedly rebuffed Ittihad's offer worth in the region of €75 000 (R1.4 million) per month in favour of seeing out the season with MCA.
Though his immediate future appears to be resolved, insiders close to the club told this publication that both parties will review the situation once again when the season ends.
Having responded to the winless streak with a resounding 5-0 victory over ES Mostaganem over the weekend, MCA will visit Paradou AC on Friday the 13th.
