The game was a disappointing one for Liverpool. Manchester United overwhelmed the young Reds and won 7-0. It's important to caveat that the injuries and suspensions definitely took a massive toll on the players.
This was an inexperienced Liverpool side and their heads definitely dropped towards the end of the game when the majority of United's goal game.
It will be a result many want to get out of their heads and forget about. But Eden won't be forgetting about it for a while.
Towards the end of the game Simon Wiles put him on for the last 10 minutes or so and handed him his debut. In the process Eden made history by becoming the youngest ever player to feature for Liverpool in the U18 Premier League.
At just 14 years and 263 days old, Eden broke Josh Davidson's record, who made his debut at 15 days and 24 days old.
It's a massive recognition for the youngster who is already playing an age group above his own.
In terms of his playing style Eden is a technically gifted midfielder. He is very tenacious and aggressive. He's good at using his body and winning his physical battles and duels.
On top of that he has a fantastic shooting range on him and has scored some spectacular goals from outside the box.
In many ways he is similar to Steven Gerrard. Not that he will become as good as the Liverpool legend. But his playing style is very much like that of Gerrard, so he could become a fan favourite.
But it's early days for Eden at the moment. For now, it's merely just a recognition that he is making moves in the right direction.
His debut was just the beginning of the long road ahead.
