Memphis Depay completed his first training session with the ball alongside the Corinthians squad on Tuesday, but he will not face Santos on Thursday at Vila Belmiro at 19:30.

According to Globo.com, the number 10 had missed the opening days of pre-season while treating a bone oedema in his knee. He moved to on-grass transition work last week without impact drills.

Head coach Dorival Júnior ruled out Depay’s involvement on Sunday, despite the forward returning to group work.

On Tuesday, the starters from Sunday’s meeting with São Paulo only took part in a warm-up on the pitch, then returned indoors for recovery.

The remaining players stayed outside for attack versus defence exercises and additional unit-based work. Centre-back Gustavo Henrique completed load-management work in the gym and skipped the warm-up.

Corinthians will finalise preparations on Wednesday. Garro, recovering from wrist surgery, is expected to remain out, while José Martínez, still in Venezuela, and defender Cacá, sidelined with an abdominal issue, will also be absent.
