Nathaniel Brown is one of two players who have already joined FC Bayern this summer. The transfer is widely regarded as a major coup. The left-back’s mentor has now explained why the national team player is such a good fit for Munich and FCB.
Although the record champions paid a hefty sum to Eintracht Frankfurt, at first glance, Nathaniel Brown’s transfer makes perfect sense. Brown developed exceptionally well in Frankfurt and earned a spot on the national team.
Meanwhile, his performances over the past few months and years have become increasingly consistent. He’s reliable, has good technique and dynamism, and can find solutions in tight spaces.
Speaking to the Abendzeitung München, Brown’s mentor and supporter Christian Lichtenauer explained why the partnership between Brown and FC Bayern is very likely to be a success.

Lichtenauer noted that it was clear early on that Brown had what it takes to eventually make it as a professional: “He had sensational vision and played through balls that were exceptionally good. But those passes rarely found their mark because his teammates were too slow. You could also see his competitive spirit and his ambition.”
These talents were further developed over time, and the player improved on multiple levels.
Lichtenauer is certain that the national team player and Bayern are a good fit on a personal level: “I believe that, with his pleasant demeanor, he’ll be very well received at FC Bayern and will quickly become very popular. He’ll feel at home in Munich and settle right in at Bayern.”
And the soccer-related aspects also seem to be a good fit. “On the field, it’s above all his extreme speed—which he maintains even with the ball—and the passes he delivers into the middle. He’s also developed incredible strength in one-on-one situations,” explains Lichtenauer.
So it’s no surprise that Bayern has had him on their radar for some time, and Brown also quickly made an impression on Vincent Kompany, the coach of the record-holding champions.
