Sory Kaba has signed with Oud-Heverlee Leuven in Belgium for one season, with an option for a second. This marks a return to familiar territory for the Guinean striker.
After launching his career at Elche, the Guinean international (21 caps, 3 goals) moved to Dijon in France in January 2019. However, his stint there was brief, as he left for Denmark to join FC Midtjylland in July 2019.
The forward was loaned to OH Leuven for the 2021-2022 season, where he made a strong impression with 12 goals and 3 assists in 29 appearances.
He was later loaned to Cardiff before being sold to Las Palmas, who then loaned him back to Elche last season. With his contract now expired, he returns to Belgium, signing as a free agent.
The club’s sporting director, Gyorgy Csepregi, expressed his delight at the signing in a statement shared on the official website of the Jupiler Pro League club: “We are very happy to have brought Sory Kaba back. He knows the club well and was eager to return to OHL. His profile fits Belgian football perfectly: he is strong, determined, and brings solid experience,” he said.
