Lionel Messi continues to show just why he's a step above the rest.

Inter Miami found themselves down 0-1 in the opening minutes against New York Red Bulls, but then the Argentina World Cup winner had enough.

Messi toyed with the host team in midfield, first setting up Jordi Alba for a beautiful equalizer with an inch-perfect pass into the box. Needle through a thread.

Then, in the blink of an eye, it was the Herons in the lead once again because of Messi's magic.

Though he won't get the assist, it was as visionary as it could be with Messi pushing the ball out wide and over the top before it eventually fell to Telasco Segovia.

And even after that, a classic low, left-footed drive from Messi went only a few feet wide of the net.

Then in the second half, he finally found his goal.

It was a brilliant ex-Barcelona build-up. Alba heads the ball to Sergio Busquets, who slides Messi through on goal, and he rounds the goalkeeper for Miami's fourth.

He didn't slow down, either. An assist from Luis Suarez was the magic touch for Messi to bag his second and earn his sixth brace in his last seven games.
