Mestalla will host a refereeing experiment on Sunday, when Valencia face Deportivo Alavés. According to Superdeporte, the match will trial a referee-worn micro camera that records images and conversations, though the footage will not be broadcast at this stage.
The test is being run through the RFEF’s Technical Committee of Referees, framed by LaLiga and the federation as part of ongoing innovation to bring fans closer to the reality of the match and strengthen transparency.

The referee for Espanyol v Oviedo will also carry the device this matchweek.
The system is expected to be available soon for regular use and could be incorporated into television coverage.
The game counts for matchday 27 in LaLiga.
