Michael Oliver will referee France’s third and final World Cup group match against Norway on Friday at 21:00, with top spot in Group I at stake.
It will be the fifth time he has taken charge of France.
At this World Cup he missed Côte d’Ivoire v Ecuador, 1-0, because of a minor injury, then returned to oversee Netherlands v Sweden, 5-1.
Oliver has refereed in the Premier League since 2010 and has been a FIFA international since 2012. He also officiated at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar and at Euro 2024.
With Oliver in charge, Didier Deschamps’s side have recorded two wins and one draw, plus a 4-5 defeat to Spain.
For Norway v France, he will be assisted by English officials Stuart Burt and James Mainwaring, and Chinese officials Ning Ma and Fei Zhou.
