Veteran forward has not played club football for over a year
Michail Antonio could make a return to football with Championship side Leicester City after the former West Ham striker began training with the Foxes.
Antonio, 35, has been out of action since a suffering a horrific leg break back in December 2024, when he crashed his car into a tree.
The Jamaica international has since recovered, and is currently a free agent having made his comeback on the pitch for the Reggae Boyz in the summer.
He continued to train at West Ham’s Rush Green training centre despite being released by the Hammers, and he was fielded in a number of matches for the Irons’ under-21 side.
Now, he has dropped down a division to train with Marti Cifuentes’ Leicester.
The 2015-16 Premier League champions will be in need of cover up top when they lose Patson Daka to Zambia at the Africa Cup of Nations.
"He has looked good and has been a good lad to have around as well," Cifuentes said of Antonio.
"We are just having a look at him and he is happy to train with us."
Cifuentes insisted that Antonio was showing no symptoms of trauma from the crash.
“Not at all,” the Spaniard replied.
"We are aware that he has been training before with another club and he is looking good in that sense.
"Match fitness is what will take some time to learn because he has been away for a long period.
"It's never easy, and it doesn't matter how hard you train or how hard you are involved, because the level of the game is different."
