Miguel Merentiel trained separately as Boca returned from a rest day. According to LaNumer12.com.ar, it was a precaution and he is likely to be available to face Universidad Católica.

Boca resumed work on Friday at Ezeiza, starting preparations for their final match of the semester. They host the Cruzados at La Bombonera and are obliged to win to reach the Copa Libertadores last 16.

The Uruguayan recently scored against Cruzeiro.

Merentiel sat out the main session, while Claudio Úbeda arranged small-sided work with several youth players involved. He watched from the side of the pitch and did not take part.

The decision was about managing his workload, as he has played almost every match and is nearing the end of a heavy semester.

He could rejoin full training on Saturday to be involved on Thursday. The team will train every day until the Católica game without further rest, leaving five sessions before the match.
