Mikel Arteta has provided an encouraging update on the recovery of key players at Arsenal, including Kai Havertz, Martin Zubimendi, and Gabriel, as the Gunners continue their push for success this season. Arteta’s comments come after a few injury setbacks, but there’s clear optimism regarding the club’s progression.
The biggest news is about Kai Havertz, who has been sidelined with an injury for several weeks. Arteta revealed that the German midfielder is making good progress in his recovery. “Progressing really well and quite fast in the last few weeks,” said Arteta. “We’re really positive that if everything continues like that, in the next training sessions, he’s going to be with us quite soon.”
However, Arteta remained cautious about rushing Havertz back into action. When asked whether he had a specific match in mind for the player’s return, the Arsenal manager responded, “I do. I don’t want to say it because, again, I think in that last part of the rehab, especially after such a long time, we need to be cautious.” Arteta emphasised the importance of taking every step carefully to ensure Havertz returns fully fit and stays injury-free for the long term.

In addition to Havertz, Arteta also addressed the situation with Ben White, who has been out due to injury. “He’s out. He’s evolving well. It’s not a major injury, but it will keep him out for a few games,” Arteta noted. He expressed confidence that White would make a speedy return, adding, “Ben is a really fast healer as well, so let’s hope that we’re going to have him in the next few games.” The Arsenal manager attributed this minor setback to the heavy workload recently placed on several of his players, including White, which required careful load management to prevent further injury.
On a more positive note, Arteta also shared optimism regarding Gabriel’s recovery from an adductor injury, which he sustained while playing for Brazil during the November international break. “He’s pushing hard as he always does every time he’s out,” Arteta said of the Brazilian centre-back. “He’s evolving really well, he’s doing pitch sessions. He’s not too far.” Arteta is hopeful that Gabriel will return to action soon, although he did mention that the final stages of his rehabilitation would determine whether he is ready for selection in the coming weeks.
With injuries to key players, including Havertz, White, and Gabriel, Arsenal must navigate through a challenging period. Arteta’s focus will undoubtedly be on ensuring his squad is fully fit for their upcoming matches, including the crucial clash with Everton. Arsenal fans will be hoping that these positive recovery updates continue, as the Gunners aim to maintain their momentum and push for success in both domestic and European competitions.
