The Gunners boss is not going anywhere

Mikel Arteta has told Arsenal fans not to panic over the fact he is yet to sign a new contract.

Arteta has confirmed talks will take place after the transfer window closes next week as Arsenal look to tie him down.

He has worked wonders since being hired in 2019, leading Arsenal to second in the Premier League in each of the past two seasons.

“I don’t think anybody has to panic,” said Arteta. “I am in the place where I want to be and am really happy - hopefully the club thinks the same thing. And the players I work with, who in my opinion are the most important ones.

Arsenal fans had grown worried about the situation given Arteta has previously been linked with big jobs at the likes of Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. Arteta, however, has explained the delay is due to the transfer window this summer and nothing else.

“The focus has been on the transfer window and we had quite a lot of things to do and discuss,” he said. We are on it and we will take care of that in the right moment.

“I am very grateful first of all for where I’m sitting and the people I work with every single day because it’s really difficult to find that harmony, trust, belief and alignment in the vision.
