The summer transfer window promises to be one of the most active in recent memory, with a remarkable number of elite players available on free transfers in June, and Dusan Vlahovic sits at the heart of one of the most intriguing storylines of all.

Speaking on Sky Sport, via MilanNews.it, transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio outlined a market shaped by an unusually strong pool of expiring contracts, placing Vlahovic alongside Goretzka, Lewandowski and Bernardo Silva as among the most coveted available players.

“This year there are some really strong players out of contract who can be signed without negotiating with clubs,” Di Marzio noted. “Vlahovic is one of the themes of this summer.”

Milan & Bayern keen on Vlahovic as Lewandowski element adds unpredictability

The Serbian striker’s situation at Juventus remains unresolved despite weeks of reported progress on a renewal.

Should talks ultimately break down, Di Marzio made clear that Milan remain firmly interested, as they were last summer, with Allegri’s long-standing admiration for the forward a significant factor.

Bayern Munich have also been monitoring the situation, viewing Vlahovic as a potential alternative to Harry Kane should they decide to reshape their attack, particularly with Nicolas Jackson on loan and carrying a prohibitively expensive buyout clause.

The Lewandowski dimension adds another layer of intrigue. The Barcelona striker is in renewal talks at the Camp Nou, but should those negotiations collapse, both Juventus and Milan could be presented with an extraordinary opportunity.

Di Marzio suggested Juventus would be the more likely destination of the two, noting that Milan are wary of accumulating too many players at the older end of the age spectrum as they look to reshape their squad for the long term.
