A statement win on an afternoon full of drama. Milan Futuro claimed the headline fixture on Matchday 3 of Serie D 2025/26 with a stirring comeback, beating ChievoVerona 3–2. In Solbiate Arno, the match seemed to be slipping away after the Rossoneri conceded two goals inside half an hour, but they dug deep, turned the tide, and finished strong: Sia pulled one back just before the break, Traorè struck early in the second half, and young Cappelletti delivered the decisive blow. A show of strength, a display of resilience.

It was the first home league win of the season for Coach Oddo’s side, coming just days after the bittersweet draw against Leon, when they let a lead slip. Lesson learned, and this time a positive result, despite the shaky start. ChievoVerona are promotion contenders and will be fighting for the top places all season long, so beating them, and beating them like this, is significant. The Diavolo now sit in second place outright on 7 points. Recovery time will be short, with the next test coming quickly: away to Casatese Merate on Wednesday 24 September, at 16:00 CEST.

MATCH REPORT After a quiet start, ChievoVerona struck first. In the 12th minute, a hesitant clearance from Bouyer gifted D’Este the opening, coolly chipping it in. Moments later Sia nearly equalised, meeting a Cappelletti cross with a powerful header, only for Tosi to pull off a superb save. The Rossoneri pushed on: Eletu forced another stop at the 20th, Perina tried an acrobatic effort at the 24th, but instead it was Chievo who doubled their lead. 33 minutes in, Sala lost possession, and Prandini fed De Cerchio, who rounded Bouyer and slotted home. Just before the break, Milan Futuro found a lifeline: Sia controlled inside the box, cut inside, and curled a stunning finish into the top corner (42’).

The restart brought fresh energy, with Oddo’s changes tilting the match. Perina and Borsani came close to finding the equaliser, but it was Traorè who made it 2–2 after 53 minutes with a sharp turn in the box and a precise finish across goal. Riding the momentum, Cappelletti struck four minutes later, unleashing from distance with the aid of a slight deflection to complete the turnaround. From there, the Diavolo managed the tempo as Chievo ran out of steam. The visitors created little of note, save for a Paloschi header that went over the bar in the 86th minute and a couple of blocked shots in stoppage time. Final score: Milan Futuro 3–2 ChievoVerona.
