Milan CEO Giorgio Furlani is due to meet with Igli Tare on Thursday to discuss the currently vacant role of Rossoneri sporting director, following a four-hour meeting between the former Lazio executive and other members of the Diavolo management team last week.
Milan are still on the lookout for a new sporting director to take charge for the 2025-26 season.
The Rossoneri had been close to appointing former Juventus and Tottenham director Fabio Paratici, but he was later dropped due to legal complications relating to the 30-month ban he is still serving.
Other names linked with the role include the aforementioned Tare, Tony D’Amico of Atalanta, Giovanni Manna of Napoli and Bologna’s Giovanni Sartori.

However, while D’Amico has been an increasingly favourable option for the Rossoneri in recent weeks, reports in Italy suggest that Tare is still the frontrunner for the job.
He will now sit down for a second meeting with Milan representatives on Wednesday, this time with CEO Furlani, who had reportedly been keen on the idea of appointing D’Amico. TMW adds that D’Amico is still not ‘fully out of the picture’.
