Milano Mayor Hopeful Ahead Of Tomorrow’s Crunch Summit: “Inter Milan & AC Milan Coexisting At San Siro Would Be Positive solution” | OneFootball

Milano Mayor Giuseppe Sala would be happy to see Inter Milan and AC Milan sharing a stadium in the San Siro region, regardless of which solution they choose.

The new stadium saga has been ongoing for several years now.

The two clubs were initially planning to build a new modern ground instead of the current Giuseppe Meazza. However, local authorities prevented them from demolishing the stadium, citing its historical and cultural significance.

The two Serie A giants then split paths, with Inter working on a project in Rozzano, and Milan doing likewise in San Donato. These are two regions on the outskirts of Milano.

However, Sala has been adamant in his attempts to keep both clubs within the city walls.

He launched a project to renovate the current San Siro ground alongside WeBuild.

The building company presented the two clubs with a detailed plan in June. A crunch meeting will thus take place tomorrow to discuss the project.

Some sources expect the Nerazzurri and the Rossoneri to turn down the proposal. The two clubs could instead decide to build a new stadium together, potentially in the San Siro region, alongside the Giuseppe Meazza.

For his part, Sala wouldn’t mind this solution, as long as it keeps the two clubs in the city.

“We’ll see tomorrow what they’ll have to tell me,” said the Milano Mayor in an interview with SportFace via FcInterNews.

“I can only say that I see any possible solution that leads to the coexistence of the two clubs in the San Siro area as a positive one.”

It remains to be seen what will be the result of the parties’ discussions on Friday.
