Milan opted against finalising the transfer of Bayer Leverkusen striker Victor Boniface, so they could once again consider signing Dusan Vlahovic.
The Rossoneri have been desperate to add some firepower to their attacking ranks. After parting ways with Tammy Abraham and Luka Jovic, Max Allegri was left with only one centre-forward in the shape of Santiago Gimenez.
The Diavolo’s attacking woes were on display in their opening-day defeat to the newly-promoted Cremonese on Saturday evening. This shocking result will prompt Igli Tare to accelerate his attempts to bolster the team’s attacking ranks.
In recent days, the San Siro outfit had supposedly secured the services of Boniface. Milan struck a deal with Bayer Leverkusen, and the player arrived in Italy and underwent a medical.
However, the 24-year-old’s fitness tests weren’t fully convincing. So while the club hasn’t completely abandoned the track, they are said to be reflecting on the matter. However, Boniface has already returned to Germany, suggesting that the deal could be off already.
According to several sources in the Italian press, including IlBianconero, claim that Vlahovic’s name could return in fashion, even though the Serbian isn’t Milan’s priority option.

Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio believes that the club is keen to sign young Sporting CP striker Conrad Harder. However, this wouldn’t necessarily rule out a move for the Juventus star, as Tare is planning to sign two centre-forwards before the end of the summer.
Milan’s revived interest in Vlahovic would be music to the ears of the Old Lady, as the 25-year-old is by far the league’s highest-paid player with a net salary of €12 million, and he’s not even expected to play as a starter in Igor Tudor’s lineup.
Allegri would also be in favour of a reunion with his old Juventus pupil. Many believe that the Livorno native has long identified the former Fiorentina striker as his preferred option for the role.
