The MLS vs. LIGA MX rivalry resumes Wednesday night in the 2026 MLS All-Star Game presented by Chime at Charlotte FC's Bank of America Stadium.

MLS holds a 3-1 advantage over LIGA MX in the All-Star Game, including a 3-1 win last summer in Austin.

The All-Star Game comes shortly before Leagues Cup, the annual tournament featuring 36 teams from MLS and LIGA MX.

MLS All-Stars

Charlotte FC head coach Dean Smith takes charge of the 2026 MLS All-Star Team, which boasts 11 players who featured at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

That list includes FC Dallas striker Petar Musa (Croatia), who leads the MLS Golden Boot presented by Audi race with 13 goals.

Meanwhile, Columbus Crew defender Steven Moreira (Cape Verde) and Colorado Rapids defender Lucas Herrington (Australia) enjoyed historic tournaments.

Charlotte FC defender Tim Ream captained the United States, who also called upon New York City FC goalkeeper Matt Freese. Canada's historic run saw Orlando City goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau and Toronto FC defender Richie Laryea in key roles.

Additionally, LAFC forward Son Heung-Min played at his fourth World Cup with South Korea and Vancouver Whitecaps FC midfielder Andrés Cubas represented Paraguay.

LIGA MX All-Stars

The LIGA MX All-Star Roster features four players who represented Mexico at the 2026 World Cup: Santos Laguna goalkeeper Carlos Acevedo, Toluca defender Jesús Gallardo, Club América defender Israel Reyes and Cruz Azul midfielder Erik Lira.

Fresh off winning the 2026 Concacaf Champions Cup, Toluca have four representatives – as well as Antonio Mohamed serving as head coach. Cruz Azul have a team-high five selections.

Pachuca striker Salomón Rondón returns to the LIGA MX All-Star after playing at the 2024 edition. He is Venezuela's all-time leading scorer with 50 goals.

Tigres UANL teammates Juan Brunetta and Fernando Gorriarán are other standouts.
