Mohamed Salah set a new Liverpool benchmark on Tuesday, making his 81st Champions League appearance in the last-16 first leg at Galatasaray to overtake Jamie Carragher as the club’s record-holder.
The Egyptian moved further into Liverpool history with that outing, while Steven Gerrard sits on 73 appearances in the competition.
Several current team-mates could close in on the tally, particularly if Salah, 34 in June, leaves in the near future.
If he comes on in Istanbul, Andrew Robertson will register his 65th Champions League match for the Reds, on the eve of his 32nd birthday.
Virgil van Dijk, 34, is on 61 including today’s game, and Alisson Becker, 33, has 57, the goalkeeper ruled out of this fixture.
Salah is already Liverpool’s leading Champions League scorer, with 46 since arriving from Roma in 2017, 22 clear of Sadio Mané.
