Fans of RWDM Molenbeek have called for an immediate sale of the club, warning its survival is in jeopardy amid mounting financial uncertainty. The Brussels side is owned by Eagle Football.

According to L'Équipe, the Federation of RWDM Supporters and the RWDM, c'est nous collective issued a statement urging the owners to put the club on the market now, arguing recent weeks have exposed how fragile its future is and citing the risk of bankruptcy.

They said decision-making power over any sale largely rests with Ares and urged the fund to take responsibility. The groups stressed urgency, adding they could no longer remain spectators as bankruptcy felt increasingly imminent.

Relegated in 2024, RWDM are 12th in Belgium's Second Division, with significant debts and uncertainty around their licence.

The club is part of Eagle Football, which also owns Olympique Lyonnais, and the group has faced turbulence since February. Ares Management demanded repayment of 425 million loaned for the purchase of Olympique Lyonnais in 2022, before John Textor was removed from the group's leadership after his failed attempt to revoke two independent directors.

Amid this instability, supporters fear the Belgian club could pay the price of a multi-ownership model in crisis and worry about another disappearance.
