After struggling to regain his form and confidence for several years, it finally looks like the FC Barcelona forward Ansu Fati has finally got an environment at AS Monaco in which he can thrive.

The young Spanish attacker joined the Ligue 1 club on loan last summer, and his start to the season has been nothing short of impressive.

Fati has already scored six goals in five appearances, quickly becoming one of the standout performers in France. His resurgence has sparked optimism that Monaco might decide to activate the €11 million purchase option included in his loan deal.

However, according to Mundo Deportivo, Monaco’s sporting director Thiago Scuro has made it clear that no decision has yet been made regarding Fati’s long-term future.

Speaking to the media during the official presentation of new head coach Sébastien Pocognoli, Scuro stressed that the club’s current focus remains on the players’ development and consistency.

“It’s not a topic for us right now. The focus is on continuing to give Ansu the right conditions so that he can get minutes and be an important and consistent player for Monaco. The deal itself is not important at the moment. When the time comes, we’ll make a decision. Monaco are protected in this situation by the agreement we have with the player and with Barça. The goal is his performance and keeping him on the pitch,” said Scuro.

Pocognoli replaces Adi Hütter as Monaco’s head coach, and it remains to be seen how he will utilize Fati in his tactical setup. For now, the 22-year-old appears to be enjoying his football again, something that had been missing during his last few seasons at Barcelona and Brighton.

Meanwhile, Fati recently took advantage of a short break to visit Barcelona, where he was spotted dining with several of his close friends from La Masia, including Gavi, Alejandro Balde, Hector Fort, Ronald Araujo, and Ilaix Moriba.
