According to L'Équipe, Montpellier captain Becir Omeragic is expected to sign for Basel after the clubs were said to have reached an agreement on Friday.
With the French transfer window closed for about 10 days, Montpellier, 10th in Ligue 2, could now lose him.

The Switzerland international, 24, has 7 caps and is under contract until 2027. Basel are fourth in the Swiss league.
Basel made an approach last summer, and he was also courted this winter by Kansas City of MLS.
The deal is estimated at €2.5m, with 20% of any future sell-on profit.
Omeragic has played 80 matches for Montpellier, scoring 3 goals, including 50 appearances in Ligue 1.
