Tottenham Hotspur‘s owners have injected £100m into the Premier League club and promised ‘more money will be available’ to drive Spurs to success on the pitch.

Spurs recently shook up the very top of the tree when Daniel Levy left his role as club supremo, a move which raised some eye-brows.

That followed hot on the heels of a managerial change in the summer, which saw Ange Postecoglou sacked and Thomas Frank brought in.

The Lewis family are now determined to drive Tottenham to success on the pitch after last season’s Europa League win.

They have rebuffed interest in buying the club from several parties and their latest move will further the impression that they are determined to keep hold of Spurs.

Capital of £100m has now been injected into the club by the Lewis family and they have insisted that more will be available when the club management decide what is needed.

A source close to the Lewis family told the Press Association: “This is initial additional funding.

“As the club’s management decides what’s needed to deliver success, more money will be available.

“The Lewis family is committed to backing the club to be successful.”

Spurs did do significant business in the summer transfer window, with the eye-catching captures of Xavi Simons and Randal Kolo Muani standing out towards the end of the window.

Further improvement efforts have taken place beyond the first team, with Charlton Athletic academy manager Tom Pell heading to Spurs.

The funding will give Frank’s transfer kitty a welcome boost ahead of the winter transfer window, which he could decide to dip into.

Having returned to the Champions League via winning the Europa League, Spurs know their only chance of staying in the competition is through their league finish this term.

That could well require an injection of talent when the window opens for business in January and now the Tottenham boss will have a further tranche of cash to make that happen, with the promise of more backing next summer.
