Pompey are looking to add their fourth permanent signing of the winter later this week.
Portsmouth believe that they are closing in on their fourth signing of the January transfer window, as John Mousinho looks to inflict further pain on Sheffield Wednesday, after beating the Owls earlier this month.
Pompey picked up a crucial point in their most recent league fixture, as Ebou Adams scored his first goal for the club in the South Coast derby, cancelling out Leo Scienza's opener for Southampton at Fratton Park.
The midfielder has been a breath of fresh air in Hampshire since leaving Derby County, and supporters have taken to The Gambia international incredibly quickly. However, he could soon be joined in the middle of the park by another player with Championship experience.
Portsmouth are looking to add more stars to their squad after a difficult few months in the Championship, and they look as though they are set to bring in their newest face in the coming days.
According to The Star, Sheffield Wednesday have already rejected a bid for Svante Ingelsson from Pompey, with their offer falling way short of their valuation. However, with the Owls still in administration, every player has their price at Hillsborough.

Therefore, it may not come as a surprise to see The News report that Portsmouth believe they are closing in on a move for the Swedish midfielder.
John Mousinho's side expect to bring the 27-year-old to Fratton Park before transfer deadline day on February 2, with an increasing confidence that the Owls will accept an offer for Ingelsson in the coming days.
Meanwhile, Barry Bannan also looks set to depart Sheffield Wednesday, with Millwall looking the likeliest destination for the veteran midfielder. Portsmouth will only add to the Owls' issues by signing their number eight, boosting their hopes of survival in the process.
Sheffield Wednesday have won just once in the league so far this season, while they have drawn eight of their other games. They are rooted to the bottom of the Championship table on -7 points, and losing Ingelsson will be hugely disappointing.

The Owls have very few senior players at their disposal, with Henrik Pedersen's side preparing for life in League One already with a takeover the priority. Nonetheless, they need to keep hold of their most crucial players and losing the midfielder will hurt.
He has played all but one of Sheffield Wednesday's games in the Championship in 2025/26, and he will be a huge loss. However, that loss is Portsmouth's gain, and alongside Adams, the Blues will have an extremely strong partnership in the middle of the park.
Pompey are the only side to have been beaten by the Owls in the league this season, and a move for Ingelsson will only help Mousinho put that defeat behind him even further.
