Former Inter Milan defender Milan Skriniar has been enduring a torrid time at PSG since his arrival. The club has now dropped him from the matchday squad.

The 29-year-old spent six years with the Nerazzurri. He first arrived at San Siro in 2017 as an up-and-coming centre-back following a promising stint at Sampdoria.

Slowly but surely, the Slovakian established himself as a pillar at the club and one of the most robust defenders in Serie A.

In the summer of 2022, Paris Saint Germain launched an onslaught to sign the defender. They were even willing to spend 60 million euros for his services, although his contract had a relatively close deadline.

In the end, Inter opted against selling Skirniar that summer, while expecting the player to sign an extension in the next campaign.

Nevertheless, the Slovakian’s signature never came. Instead, he ended up joining the Parisians in the summer of 2023 on a free transfer.

But sadly for the former Sampdoria man, he has fallen on hard times since leaving Appiano Gentile on a sour note.

Skriniar had a forgettable first campaign at Le Parc des Princes plagued by injuries and below-par displays.

While he was hoping to bounce back this term, PSG aren’t interested in granting him the chance.

As FcInter1908 notes, Luis Enrique has omitted the defender from his matchday squad for technical reasons

Despite being fit to play, Skriniar didn’t receive a call-up for tonight’s encounter against Montpellier.

This is a clear declaration of intent on the French club’s part. They no longer wish to rely on the Slovakian’s service and are thus pushing him out of the door.

According to FootMercato via FcInterNews, PSG have offered their unwanted centre-back to the traditional Istanbul trio of Galatasaray, Fenerbahce and Besiktas.

The player’s contract with the Ligue 1 champions is valid until June 2028.
