Moroccan MP raises alarming claims after AFCON final

A Moroccan MP demanded action against referee Jean Jacques Ndala after the AFCON final loss to Senegal in Rabat.

The Africa Cup of Nations 2025 final between Morocco & Senegal continues to provoke strong reactions, days after dramatic night at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat on Sunday 17 January.

During parliamentary session, Moroccan MP called for judicial action against Congolese referee Jean Jacques Ndala accusing him of either collusion or serious failure in handling the match.

Moroccan MP went further during his intervention, controversially suggesting that Senegalese players used witchcraft or mysterious rituals that influenced the match outcome. He linked this claim to the temporary walk off.

He argued that the referee should have immediately awarded Morocco the win following Senegal’s withdrawal calling the decision to continue the match “illogical”.

Senegal lifted the AFCON trophy for second time in their history after their 2021 triumph. Morocco meanwhile,saw another painful chapter added to 50 year wait for second continental title since 1976.
