Morocco face Tanzania in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) round of 16 at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium on Sunday.
The hosts finished top of Group A with seven points, while Tanzania were one of the best third-placed teams to advance.
Morocco beat Comoros 2-0 in their opening match, before being held to a 1-1 draw by Mali. They put any lingering doubts about them to rest with a convincing 3-0 victory over Zambia.
Walid Regragui’s side rank first for accurate passes and total shots, and second for ball possession per game.
Tanzania lost 2-1 to Nigeria in their first game, before drawing with Uganda and Tunisia.
Their defensive resilience was evident against Tunisia, and they will now hope to build on that performance in this clash.
Romain Saiss and Hamza Igamane are the only injury concerns for Morocco. Tanzania have a clean bill of health.
Both teams have met only once at AFCON, but have faced each other eight times overall, with Morocco winning seven and Tanzania triumphing once.
Morocco (4-3-3): Yassine Bounou, Noussair Mazraoui, Adam Masina, Nayef Aguerd, Anass Salah-Eddine, Sofyan Amrabat, Azzedine Ounahi, Neil El Aynaoui, Brahim Diaz, Yakub El Kaabi, Ismael Saibari.
Tanzania (4-2-3-1): Hussein Masalanga, Mohamed Hussein, Ibrahim Hamad, Bakari Mwamnyeto, Dickson Job, Novatus Miroshi, Alphonce Msanga, Simon Msuva, Feisal Salum, Haji Mnoga, Mbwana Samatta.
We expect Morocco to triumph 3-0.
