Mourinho ‘to get’ Lukebakio boost for Benfica’s Real Madrid play-off first leg | OneFootball

José Mourinho could receive a timely boost before Real Madrid, with Dodi Lukebakio in contention for Benfica’s Champions League play-off first leg.

A Bola reports that the Belgian international is fit to add minutes after returning to the matchday squad in Friday’s 2-1 win over Santa Clara on 13 February.

Mourinho had indicated on BTV he was considering using him against the Azoreans, but Lukebakio stayed on the bench as the coach felt he was not yet ready.

Over the coming days the winger will look to sharpen his fitness to convince the manager to hand him minutes against the Merengues, scheduled for Tuesday, 17 February at Estádio da Luz.

Valued at 20 million euros, Lukebakio has made 11 competitive appearances for Benfica this season, six in Liga Portugal Betclic, three in the Champions League, one in the Taça de Portugal and one in the Taça da Liga.

He has totalled 835 minutes, contributing one goal and three assists.
