Moussa Niakhaté was sent off in the 19th minute for Olympique Lyonnais against Celta Vigo in the Europa League round-of-16 second leg on Thursday.
According to L'Équipe, the 30-year-old has endured a difficult week after losing the Africa Cup of Nations he believed he had won with Senegal.

The dismissal followed a heavy, apparently inadvertent, challenge on Javier Rueda, 23, as the Spaniard carried the ball on the right flank of Vigo’s attack.
Referee Irfan Peljto immediately reached for the red card.
There was no VAR consultation before the decision.
