Jamal Musiala is still a long way off his top form at the moment. The FC Bayern attacking player needs to keep at it and regain his confidence. Oliver Kahn has now advised the attacking star to take a drastic step
After all, Kahn suggested to Musiala that missing out on the World Cup in the summer would not be a bad idea after all his history of injuries and problems
„That’s the most important thing: if I feel something is wrong in my game – maybe I’m not ready to go into the duels – then I have to work on myself until I’m ready again. As a professional, I have to think: I first have to reach my old level again, and then I can think about world championships and the big things,“ said the former world-class goalkeeper
Bayern’s sporting director Max Eberl has now commented on this debate. He countered Kahn’s statements quite clearly to Sky. „I honestly believe that anyone who plays professional sport cannot be told, when the biggest events are coming up, „You, stay at home“,“ said Eberl

On Musiala’s recovery process, Eberl said: „Jamal is on a path that takes time. We all saw the injury, which was very complicated and also had after-effects. We knew that the recovery would take a lot of time, both physically and mentally, especially in terms of being able to get back on the pitch without any worries.“
He continued: „These are processes that he is going through now. The moment will come when something extraordinary happens on the pitch. And then the knot will burst.“ However, Musiala doesn’t have much time left to recommend himself before the World Cup
Eberl is also relatively certain that Musiala can play a good role at the World Cup and that it’s not about being the key player right from the start: „I’m sure that Jamal, if he’s reasonably fit, will do us a lot of good at the World Cup. If he has the form, then he’s important. And if he’s not yet at 100%, then you’re happy to have him on the bench to create special moments.“
