So what would your ideal final 2025/26 Premier League table look like.
Yes, I know the last one finished less than three weeks ago but that doesn’t stop me daydreaming of what is to come…
The 2025/26 season will kick off on the weekend of Saturday 16 August 2025.
All 20 teams will then play their final matches on Sunday 24 May 2026.
In an ideal world, how would I want these 20 clubs to end up in the 2025/26 Premier League table at the end of May 2026?
So, this is how in my dreams, the final table would look…
My perfect final 2025/26 Premier League table:
Newcastle United
Bournemouth
Burnley
Brentford
Fulham
Wolves
Forest
Palace
Brighton
West Ham
Leeds
Aston Villa
Man City
Everton
Spurs
Man U
Sunderland
Liverpool
Arsenal
Chelsea
Why?
Well, I would hope that you’d all agree that Newcastle United top of the table is something we’d all love to see. If not, I’d love to hear your reasoning for why you’d not want United to win the title???
To be honest, after that at the very top end, I’m not really that bothered who comes next out of the next handful or so.
I suppose my choices of others towards the top, are based on who I don’t see as longer-term rivals for Newcastle United.
Then amongst those, I got a bit sentimental for Bournemouth due to Eddie Howe, the Cherries owing their very existence/survival to the great man.
Might as well have Eddie’s other previous club (from a manager perspective) in third, Burnley from the north as well.
My big interest of course, apart from Newcastle United, are those at the very bottom.
As we are all well aware, the huge challenge for United is closing the gap long-term on the half dozen when it comes to finances.
So my bottom three, I look to see which clubs do I most want relegated because it can assist Newcastle United in closing the financial gap.
That is why it has to be Chelsea I would most like to see relegated.
Of the ‘Big Six’ their revenues are easily the lowest and I think they are living on borrowed time. How long will these American owners be willing to fund the huge losses they have made. Reality is that these Chelsea owners came in to make money in the long run and with a capacity of under 40,000, it is one of many reasons as to why they are vulnerable. Their creative accounting has cheated the system so far, whilst their wholesale buying of young players in order to loan them out and then sell for a profit, not sure how that would be sustainable if in the Championship!
Arsenal an easy choice as well to go down, so as to severely damage their finances, plus there isn’t a lot to like about their club on and off the pitch.
Similar story with Liverpool.
I can’t believe that I haven’t found a relegation place for Man U.
You can only pick three though and they are such a badly run club, with arrogant greedy clowns in Ratcliffe and the Glazers making them a laughing stock, no matter how much money they continue to rake in from their gloryhunter fanbase, they will still struggle to get back to the top end.
As for Sunderland, I suppose I could live with them in the Premier League, if they have a relegation struggle season after season, win very few matches, then cling on as the fourth worst team and lose to Newcastle United both matches.
So there you have it, my ideal final 2025/26 Premier League table.
