NAC Breda are set to sign Moussa Soumano from AC Ajaccio, according to Voetbal International. The 19-year-old Frenchman will put pen to paper on a four-year contract.

Soumano scored four times in Ligue 2 for Ajaccio last season, for whom he has played 66 official matches despite his youth. According to NAC, the physically strong attacker was also of interest to clubs such as Aberdeen and Sturm Graz, but has chosen to continue his career in the Netherlands.

As per insiders, NAC are paying a record amount for Soumano. L’Équipe previously reported that a bid of half a million euros from Aberdeen had been rejected for Ajaccio. NAC previously paid that amount for right-back Kaj de Rooij from FC Eindhoven in 2020 for around 500,000 euros.

Technical director Peter Maas spoke with Soumano in Brussels and is happy with his arrival. “Moussa has an explosive profile and wants to improve. The Eredivisie is a good platform for that, and NAC is a big challenge. With Soumano, we get more depth and threat in the front line. He can play in multiple positions.”
