Reports in Italy claim that Napoli and Manchester United now have a verbal agreement in place for the transfer of former Atalanta striker Rasmus Hojlund, who looks set to join the Partenopei on loan with an obligation to buy.
Napoli have been pursuing a deal for Hojlund over the last 10 days following the confirmation that Romelu Lukaku is set to miss several months of the season with a serious injury to his thigh.
Antonio Conte’s side had initially explored options for a potential loan deal, but have since opened up to the suggestion of signing the Denmark international on loan with an obligation to buy.

Now, according to updates from Gianluca Di Marzio, there is a verbal agreement in place between Napoli and Manchester United for the 22-year-old’s transfer.
Thursday’s update confirms that Napoli will invest a total of €45m, including both the loan fee and the obligation to buy.

Di Marzio reports that Hojlund could even set off for Italy as early as Friday, August 29, as long as an agreement on personal terms is concluded before then.
Meanwhile, Napoli are also hoping to close a deal in the near future for former winger Eljif Elmas.
