Napoli have made an exploratory approach to Tottenham over Swedish midfielder Lucas Bergvall, according to TeamTalk, with the 20-year-old understood to have communicated his desire to leave Spurs at the end of the season, though Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig are currently considered further ahead in the race.
Bergvall was signed by Tottenham in 2024 for approximately €10 million, beating off competition from Barcelona for a player widely regarded as one of the most promising midfielders of his generation.
His value has risen sharply since then, with Spurs now valuing him at £45-50 million, via IlNapolista, a significant outlay that currently places the deal beyond the immediate priorities of a Napoli side still finalising the appointment of Massimiliano Allegri as head coach.

Sporting director Giovanni Manna’s known enthusiasm for young talent with high potential makes Bergvall a natural fit for Napoli’s profile, with the club having consistently pursued promising players from both South America and northern Europe in recent transfer windows.
However, at this stage the contact amounts to an initial sounding rather than a concrete negotiation.
Dortmund and Leipzig are understood to be in more advanced discussions with Tottenham, giving the Bundesliga clubs a significant head start.
Napoli will monitor developments, ready to move if an opportunity presents itself, but Bergvall is currently better described as a name to watch than an imminent signing.
