Newcastle are prepared to offer Bruno Guimaraes a bumper new contract in an effort to ward off interest from Arsenal, according to reports.
The Sun say Newcastle are readying a £200,000 a week contract for the Brazilian in an effort to secure his future at the club.
The Gunners are believed to be exploring a deal for the midfielder, but Newcastle are said to be unwilling to entertain offers for the 28-year-old.

Elsewhere, Sky Sports are reporting that Como have made an offer for Chelsea defender Trevoh Chalobah.
The Serie A side, managed by former Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas, are said to have offered around £23m for the England international, but the Blues are believed to be looking for around £30m.
Brighton, meanwhile, have agreed a deal with Leeds to sign centre-back Pascal Struijk, according to several reports. The fee is understood to be around £20m.
England boss Thomas Tuchel says Elliot Anderson’s move to Manchester City could be sorted before England’s round of 32 World Cup tie with DR Congo next week.
“I think there’s a high chance it’s sorted before the round of 32,” he said. “He plays like he owns the place.”
And ESPN report that City could also join the race for Morocco midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi.
