All eyes were on Chelsea’s team sheet today to see who Liam Rosenior picked in goal.

The Blues boss had made quite the mess for himself by dropping Robert Sanchez, then seeing his replacement Filip Jorgensen make a horrible error against PSG.

As we suspected, Rosenior swallowed his pride today and went back to Sanchez in goal. But more surprisingly, Jorgensen isn’t even on the bench.

Kieran Gill of the Daily Mail is the first to get the scoop that this is due to a “groin injury.”

Conspiracies don’t quite add up, despite temptation

Ok, it’s tempting to get all conspiracy theory about this, and certainly it’s a very convenient time to have a “slight” groin injury. But actually it doesn’t really make much sense for anyone to lie in this case. The best thing for everyone would just be just for Jorgensen to be right back on the bench so that the story can move on.

Having him out of the squad only lengthens the lifespan of this story. It’s not in his interest to fake an issue either – he’s been the backup goalkeeper for most of the year, it’s hardly a humiliating situation to return to.

In other news…

You can see the full lineup for today’s game – featuring the notable lack of Jorgensen, in the post here.
