The 25-year-old was a regular feature in the top flight last season.
Ipswich Town left-back Leif Davis is attracting interest from Premier League clubs after impressing in the top flight last season.
The 25-year-old made 33 appearances in the Premier League during the 2024/25 campaign, and while he was unable to prevent the Tractor Boys being relegated back to the Championship, he caught the eye with several encouraging performances.
Now, with Ipswich set to mark their return to the second tier with a trip to Birmingham City on Friday night, the club has received bids from the Premier League for Davis, as per reporter Mike McGrath via X.
McGrath has reported that Davis is on the shortlist of top flight clubs that are looking for a new left-back this summer, although the Tractor Boys are keen to keep hold of the player as they look to win promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking under Kieran McKenna this season.
Ipswich have turned down the bids for Davis, so it will be interesting to see if they receive any improved offers between now and the end of the transfer window.
Davis has shown in the last two seasons that he is producing performances that warrant Premier League football, with his work last season leading to conversations around whether he should be considered for the England squad.
The 25-year-old was a standout player in the Championship the last time he played in the second tier during Ipswich's promotion-winning 2023/24 campaign. He finished the season with the highest number of assists in the division, despite being a full-back, ahead of the likes of Georginio Rutter and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
His willingness to get up and down the pitch combined with his crossing ability makes him a significant threat, especially in the Championship, so it is easy to understand why Kieran McKenna wants to keep hold of him this summer.
Ipswich will be looking to compete at the top end of the Championship this season, and Davis' contract is not set to expire until the summer of 2028, so there is every chance that the player will still be at Portman Road when the summer transfer window closes.
Ipswich have already made a significant sale this summer, with striker Liam Delap having joined Premier League giants Chelsea in a deal worth £30 million in June.
The club have moved to bring in midfielder Azor Matusiwa from Stade Rennais for a fee in the region of £10 million, and look set to sign Ajax striker Chuba Akpom on loan with an option to buy for £7 million if they win promotion, while they have also signed Ashley Young and David Button on free transfers, as well as Cedric Kipre on loan from Stade Reims.
Therefore, their business so far has been funded by the sale of Delap, so they are not under huge pressure to sell any of their other key players.
Ipswich turned down a £35 million bid from Nottingham Forest for winger Omari Hutchinson yesterday, which further shows that the Tractor Boys are in a strong position financially.
It seems as though Ipswich intend to strengthen their squad during the remainder of the transfer window rather than having it weakened, so it would likely take a big offer if Davis is going to depart this summer.
