Formerly from the Barcelona youth academy, Spanish winger Victor Munoz is currently present at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Moreover, having just recently moved to Premier League side Liverpool this summer, he seems to be getting ready for a big jump in terms of pressure as well.
However, being around several of Barça’s best stars at the World Cup seems to have impressed the 22-year-old winger. In a recent interview with DAZN, as quoted by Mundo Deportivo, the winger even highlighted three Barcelona stars who seem to have impressed during Spain’s training sessions under Luis de la Fuente:
“Pedri, Lamine, and Dani Olmo have incredible quality. Being able to enjoy playing alongside them is something anyone would love.”
Some big names in there, and it is understandable why he would be impressed by those players. After all, Lamine Yamal even recently managed to come away with the Man of the Match award from Spain’s thrashing of Austria in their Round of 32 fixture at the tournament.
Moreover, he also highlighted how several Barcelona players have been looking after him while on international duty:
“Cubarsi, Pedri, Dani Olmo, Eric Garcia… they’ve looked after me especially well, although I don’t want to single out only a few people. Those are just some names.”
Ultimately, it is good to see that the former Barça youth product still has positive connections with players from the club even today. While he now begins a new chapter in England, the talented young winger’s future beyond that could potentially see him return to Spain one day, and it will be interesting to see where that leads him once that day arrives.
For now, he seems to be determined to help Spain out at the World Cup. With the likes of Yamal, Pedri, and Cubarsi enjoying a great run of form so far, they will be facing their toughest challenge in the competition yet against Portugal in the Round of 16.
