In the footsteps of his father

John Mellberg will now appear for our Red Bulls with the number 4 on his back.

The 18-year-old defender, who made eight appearances for our Red Bulls last season, two of which were at the FIFA Club World Cup, will therefore follow the example of his father, Olof, who wore the number in his time at Juventus and Aston Villa, among others.

John himself – who received his first call-up to the Swedish national team in June – has also worn the number 4 for Sweden U19. His jersey with its new number can, of course, be purchased right away in our Online Fanshop as well as at our Bullshop, along with our Club World Cup jersey and our away kit for the new season!
