A high quality game, which we deserved to win.

Good performances all over the park and Eddie’s team selection was thoroughly justified.

We attacked well and defended better. I don’t think Pope had a shot to save.

I’m off on the peeve but it will be interesting to hear what Arteta finds to whinge about. Perhaps he’ll give Newcastle some credit for once.

Anyway, I don’t care. I’m proud to be a mag tonight.’

Nat Seaton:

‘What a performance, what a result!!

So much to make us happy today, finally it came together and we thoroughly deserved the victory.

A fantastic goal to win the game but it was the full 100 minutes that was the most pleasing and all the sweeter for it to be against cheating Arsenal.

Well done lads you were brilliant :)’

Bazoox:

‘Tremendous performance.

Great cross, great goal. Well done boys.

I actually was happy with Eddie’s selections, although my mates bemoaned Tonali’s absence.

More man of the Matches than Fred Sirieix.

Get in.’

The Armchair Fan:

‘Absolutely delighted with that!

Best result and performance of the season.

Superb goal too.

Time to party!!!!!!!’

David Punton:

‘Absolutely brilliant!

A fantastic result to cap off a great week for United. Downing Arsenal is always a joy.

It was a narrow win but they all count and we battled ever so hard today – everyone out there in a black and white shirt.

Gordon’s ball in for Isak was delicious. The super Swede in between the Arsenal centre halves to meet the cross and bullet the header into the gaping Gallowgate goal.

Three changes from midweek, with a few eyebrows raised at Tonali’s omission, but it’s worked. Longstaff’s value to the cause always underrated.

We just looked the more dangerous team.

It is maybe too early to talk about turning points but Chelsea beaten in midweek and now Arsenal. Once again we look up the table.

Also – I saw Nobby Solano on the Metro this morning – clearly a good omen!’

Matt Busby said to…:

‘Not bad at all.

An excellent performance and an excellent three points.

I fancied us beforehand and it came to pass.

Alex Isak MOTM.

Only the fireworks at Saltwell Park this evening will spoil my day, but by then I plan to be well oiled. Our whippet won’t be though and that’s the point.’

Tony Mallabar:

‘Truly I am the master of predictions toon-wise.

First off Anthony Gordon to be a massive flop.

Then nice guy Eddie to be gone by end of play today.

My third predictions was for Tonali to be back in Milan for Christmas.

Seriously great result today and am now off to put the lottery on using my special numbers combinations of 60-75…’

Mark Jankowski:

‘Newcastle delivered a top-drawer performance to pick up a fully deserved 3 points today.

A lot has been said about our failure to recruit in some areas but today the players we have made a statement that they’re not to be underestimated.

Intensity and hard work all over the pitch, alongside some quality from our star players, made Arsenal look very average.

Lewis Hall continues to get better every game, easily the Man of the Match in amongst a lot of top performances.’
