Several Premier League clubs are eyeing a move for Newcastle United right back Valentino Livramento.
According to the Standard, Arsenal are the latest club to register an interest in Livramento, who has been described as a ‘future England captain‘.
Newcastle have only recently started finding their feet after a slow start to the season. The Magpies are eighth in the Premier League table, just three points off fourth-placed Liverpool.
They’re also seventh in the Champions League league phase standings and firmly in contention to secure automatic qualification to the knockout stage.
Livramento has been a crucial player for Newcastle this season. He has featured 13 times in the Premier League this season, starting 11 times.
He is currently out with a hamstring injury he picked up an hour into the six-goal thriller against Bournemouth in the FA Cup third round.
Livramento’s injury record has been a major issue since he joined Newcastle. But that hasn’t stopped potential suitors from registering an interest in him.
He has already been linked with a move to Manchester City, but Arsenal are the latest team to register an interest.
The 23-year-old has a contract that runs until 2028, so Newcastle are under no immediate pressure to cash in on him.
Livramento joined Newcastle from Southampton in a deal worth around £30 million in 2023.
He’s one game away from his 100th appearance for the Magpies and has developed into a decent Premier League defender, although his numbers going forward leave plenty to be desired.
