Newcastle United and joined Tottenham Hotspur in pursuing a deal to sign Savinho from Manchester City.
Savinho’s struggled for regular minutes at Manchester City has alerted rival teams, with the 22-year-old starting only seven games in the Premier League.
The arrivals of Rayan Cherki and Antoine Semenyo at the Etihad have pushed Savinho down the pecking order and he is now considering his options.
Spurs pushed to sign Savinho last summer and are reportedly ready to renew that pursuit. Roberto De Zerbi is planning for an overhaul of his squad after a 17th-place finish in the Premier League and are targeting additions to the forward line after a campaign impacted by injury absences.
Savinho is understood to be open to the move to North London, though rival interest has emerged from Newcastle.
Fabrizio Romano is reporting that the Magpies are considering Savinho as a potential replacement for Anthony Gordon. The latter is expected to leave St James’ Park, amid interest from the Premier League, Bayern Munich and Barcelona.
