PSG's Gonçalo Ramos is reportedly being lined up by Newcastle as a potential replacement for wantaway striker Alexander Isak.
According to the Daily Mail, the Magpies are weighing up their options as they prepare to lose out on Benjamin Sesko to Manchester United, while also bracing for the likely departure of Isak.
Premier League champions Liverpool have been strongly linked with the Swedish striker during this summer transfer window, and Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has revealed that the Magpies rejected an offer from the Reds last week.
Despite Liverpool's keen interest in the Swede, reports also suggest that PSG are interested in bringing Isak to the French capital and could offer Ramos as part of a deal worth up to €180 million.
Newcastle’s interest in Gonçalo Ramos stretches back to his Benfica days. In 2023, the Magpies reportedly tabled a €60 million bid, which was deemed insufficient by the Lisbon outfit.
Ramos eventually joined PSG on an initial loan with a mandatory purchase clause, in a deal worth €65 million plus €15 million in performance-based add-ons.
When asked about Ramos, Howe has remained tight-lipped, saying only that Newcastle "are evaluating several options.”
PSG, meanwhile, are unlikely to part with the striker for less than €60–80 million.
